  • "Shapes and Shears, Stars and Smears: Optimal Measurements for Weak Lensing". Bernstein, G., & Jarvis, M. 2002, AJ, 123, 583. This is a "comprehensive but exhausting" paper with detailed technical descriptions of ellipticity and shear measurements, corrections for the PSF, systematic effects, etc.

  • "Shapelets: II. A Method for Weak Lensing Measurements". Refregier, A., & Bacon, D. 2001, astro-ph/0105179. These papers describe use of the shapelet method for weak lensing measurements.

  • "Weak Lensing Results from the 75 Square Degree CTIO Survey". Jarvis, M., et al. 2002, astro-ph/0210604. This paper provides a description of data reduction and analysis techniques as applied to a recent large weak lensing survey.

  • "Weak Gravitational Lensing". Bartelmann, M., & Schneider, P. 2001, Physics Reports, 340, 291-472; also astro-ph/9912508. This is a lengthy review of weak gravitational lensing.

• "POI: The Panoramic Optical Imager". From the Pan-STARRS project home page. Suggested by Scott Dodelson, pp. 53-58 of this document compares weak lensing performance for SNAP vs. the ground-based POI (now called Pan-STARRS).
