The SNAP Wide Area Survey physics paper

The physics paper lays out our investigation of the SNAP Wide Area Survey. Its contents are:
  • Introduction to Dark Energy
  • Wide Area Survey Design and Science Context
  • Cluster Abundance Evolution
  • Weak Lensing Measurement of the Matter Power Spectrum
  • Other Science: galaxy clustering, nonlinear evolution, galaxy evolution
  • Fermilab Contributions:
    • WAS reduction and analysis software
    • Hardware: SS data recorder and manager, cosmic ray sheild.
    • Science Support: photo-z, cluster finding, calibration
Our thinking may evolve, and the paper itself will as we move it from the current aim at the PAC to making it a contribution to the SNAP Collaboration. One can also take a look at The SDSS and the HDF to gain perspective on the relation of wide area surveys and high spatial resolution.
